New project for Design Stars

Posted on March 3, 2010

We are excited to announce our next project is scheduled or March 26th-28th! Tommy and Rachel Nixon, who reside in Fullerton, will be the recipients of our latest ‘home extreme makeover’.

Tommy leads a non-profit called Solidarity that exists to connect and change inner city communities. Their vision is to “impact communities towards holistic transformation.”. They do this by serving ‘at risk’ youth through mentoring, programs, and leadership development. Rachel has her hands full with two beautiful daughters and managing a new home. They both have a passion to love and serve their community regardless of how uncomfortable it may be.

The Nixons strategically moved into a home in the middle of a high gang area of Fullerton. Their desire is to have a home where troubled youth can feel welcomed and accepted. Their hope is to be a positive force in their neighborhood and help diminish gang activity through love and relationships. The Nixon’s residence is a modest 1920s home has a ton of potential. After the renovation it  will be used to magnify the Nixon’s love to their community.

This is a great opportunity to invest in a family that is reaching out to the misfit and marginalized of Orange County, CA. If you live in the area please make plans to join us the weekend of March 26th-28th.
