My Christmas suprise!

Merry Christmas to fans and followers of Creative Leadership!

My apologies for being inconsistent on posting this past week. An unexpected surprise has pleasantly turned my world upside down. After two years of waiting and working through the foster care system, my family was finally placed with a foster baby! This 7 week old was the perfect gift for Christmas and we couldn’t be happier. It’s been years since diapers and formula, so it’s been a little chaotic in my life- but a welcomed chaos. The circumstances around our foster situation is still very sensitive and evolving. Our desire is to adopt but there are many unknowns and the future is unclear. We just have to appreciate the moment and embrace the mystery. Its turned into a chaotic Christmas.

On this blog, I talk a lot about chaos. We naturally are creatures of habit. We abhor the unknown and order our life around predictability. However, in the chaos there is a blessing beyond comprehension. I truly believe that new levels of happiness, joy, and peace can only be experienced only after being sifted through the machine of chaos. Will we be able to keep this child? What will the future hold for this little one? How will our lives be affected by the new addition to our family? So many questions that lead to less solutions and more potential problems. But that’s OK. Our family has committed to stepping out in faith and embracing the chaos- where ever it may lead. One thing is for certain, nothing makes you more creative (in life) than the introduction of little chaos.

I covet your prayers and support during this time. I will update you as events unfold. So have a very Merry chaotic Christmas and a mysterious New Year!
