Death of a dream

Posted on September 9, 2009

Here is a simple but sobering thought of the day. The above picture is of a graveyard in Kyoto, Japan. Clearly they have an over-crowding problem. But worst than a shortage of restate, think of how these headstones represent the unrealized dreams of so many. How many undiscovered songs, movies, dances, companies, innovations, art, inventions, and worst of all- relationships are there in this photo? Our lives exist for a few moments but the fruit of creation can last forever.

How many of you are planning to die with unrealized dreams? What are you putting off in hopes that there will be a tomorrow? We were created with a infinite amount of hopes, dreams, and ideas that were meant to blossom in the light of day.

Go to the grave empty.

Dreams by Langston Hughes.
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow
